FAQ

Who are we?

The Energy Lab is an energy consulting and brokerage firm for individuals and professionals.

Each year, through Studywatt, we are happy to support more than 10,000 students in the procedures related to the commissioning of their electricity meters by helping them to subscribe to the best offer in a few clicks.

Thanks to our partner suppliers, we offer the offers that are best suited to small consumptions.

Are you looking for the cheapest deal? The greenest offer? You are in the right place!

Why is it free?

Studywatt is 100% free! Our economic model is simple and transparent: we have selected the best electricity offers for students and our partners (energy suppliers) pay us for supporting users and implementing contracts.

It doesn't change what you'll have to pay. You will not pay €1 more if you choose to go through Studywatt.

On the contrary: our location allows us to choose the best offers just for you, a significant bonus in addition to the advice of our teams of experts!

How do you choose your energy supplier?

Since EDF and Engie are no longer the only energy suppliers, you can choose between more than 40 different suppliers. The main criteria that will allow you to decide are:

  • Price competitiveness: you can compare kilowatt hour prices as well as subscription prices. Taxes, on the other hand, are the same for all suppliers;
  • The clarity of the offers: notes and online comments allow you to learn more about the experiences with the various suppliers, and sometimes alert to certain abusive practices;
  • The quality of customer service: some providers offer a premium service while others only have online offers;
  • Commitment to the environment: if you want to support the development of renewable energies, do not hesitate to compare green energy suppliers.
What are the deadlines for commissioning?

The commissioning times may vary depending on the type of your electricity meter. Here are the deadlines generally associated with each type of meter:

Linky counters:

  • Linky meters are designed to facilitate commissioning and reduce delays. In general, the commissioning of a Linky meter can be carried out within an average of 24 to 48 working hours from the request, when the operation does not require the intervention of a technician.

Electromechanical meters:

  • Electromechanical meters, being older, may require manual intervention to set them up. Delays may therefore be slightly longer compared to Linky counters. In general, the commissioning of an electromechanical meter can take between 5 and 15 working days from the request.

It is important to note that these deadlines are indicative and may vary depending on various factors such as the availability of technicians, the region, and the electricity supplier. To obtain accurate information on commissioning times, our advisers remain at your disposal from Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Is my offer non-binding?

All electricity offers on our platform are non-binding. You are free to change suppliers or end your contract whenever you want, at no cost!

Do you offer green offers?

Of course, you can subscribe to a green electricity offer from our platform.

Be careful, however, not all offers are the same and you must be attentive to the meaning of the various “green” labels. They can correspond to carbon offsetting, to the purchase of green certificates on the European market or to direct procurement from eco-responsible producers.

Will I be able to track my consumption?

You can monitor your electricity consumption directly from your supplier customer area.

All our partners offer free daily, weekly and monthly monitoring of your electricity meter consumption.
